Crafter
Crafter
With origins in the quiet, western-most parts of Massachusetts, Crafter took off in 2014 with one goal: to write as much music and tour with as much energy as possible. Following the footsteps of the early to mid-2000s melodic hardcore/punk bands such as Verse and Modern Life is War, Crafter experimented early on in their sound before cementing their ethics and vision in their debut LP, Embrace. "This record was written for people from the common fabric of all sorts, who deal with the winding roads of whatever “normal” life is," writes vocalist Kyle Taylor. With their lyrical and musical drive targeted at linking passion to common life, blended with aggressive and emotional tendencies that tackle the entwined ethics of the social, political, and personal spheres, Crafter continue to aim to connect with the hardcore community and beyond in the years to come.
Years Apart
Years Apart
Years Apart is the latest melodic-hardcore band to come out of the New England hardcore scene. The band started in the beginning of 2016 when drummer Steve Yanchuk, and guitarist Chris Cesarini, began writing music for a new project. Soon after Chris McNulty (vocals), Chris Moore (guitar), and Mark Amaral (bass) joined on to complete the ensemble. The band hit the scene with a demo of their song “Embrace”, but have recently started to build a name for themselves with their debut EP, Void of Compassion. The EP has received an overwhelmingly positive response within the hardcore scene due to its hard hitting musical style, deeply rooted in the likes of The Carrier, Comeback Kid, and Defeater. The lyrical approach vocalist Chris McNulty takes keeps their music real, but overwhelmingly emotional, touching on concepts of loss, addiction, and overcoming weakness. Each member takes part in the writing process and each of their strengths contributes to Years Apart’s orchestrated sound. The band intends to keep writing music that they enjoy playing, and their dynamic serves to prove that they will bend to whatever comes their way and affects their sound. Working on a second EP, Years Apart is not a band to shy away from, as they have a lot more coming your way. - Ramsay Young (Dreamwell)
